New to Yoga: The Start Of An Amazing Journey
You don’t need to be 25, supple, a size 4 or eat tofu to benefit from yoga! It suits any body shape and life stage–young, old, teens, 20-something, pregnant, middle or advance years. With Atlanta’s best teachers, beautiful studios and a broad range of classes + workshops and yoga/Pilates training, Atlanta Hot Yoga will offer something perfect for you.
Building a solid foundation is the most important part of your yoga practice. An Atlanta Hot Yoga Hot Class is the ideal (but not the only) way to begin your journey. You will be alongside other beginners, discovering yoga in a safe and fun space. The practice will make you stronger week by week, providing a solid foundation and inspiration for classes or workshops at the next level.
Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class and a reservation is not required. You will be greeted by your instructor who will offer further consultation on what to expect and/or discuss any injuries, limitations, or medical conditions so that we ensure your class is suited to your every requirement.
Studio & Class Logistics:
- We offer showers and changing rooms at both studios. We have cubbies to store your belongings, but we do not have lockers.
- We rent mats and towels ($1/per) and we sell Smart Water ($3). If you are a new student your first mat and towel is on us.
- The studio room is a silent space, with no belongings allowed with the exception of your mat, towel and water. We ask that you turn your cell phone off or on silent upon entering the studio.
- Wear comfortable clothing–something with give that covers. Active sports apparel is the most popular due to its stretch and ability to wick moisture. Avoid loose, flowing garments (sweats) as they will become bothersome as you move and sweat.
- Arrive well-hydrated. Drink a couple of liters of water in the 12 hours before the class and avoid heavy meals, dairy or processed sugar within 2 to 3 hours prior to your class. Fruits, light snacks, nuts are suitable in small amounts.
Taking your first step onto the yoga mat is an exciting new beginning. No matter the style of yoga, course, class or workshop you begin with, we believe the only way to start yoga is with the highest standard of teacher in the best environment. Take your time, practice + patience are essential. Challenge but never strain yourself. Yoga is a journey.
